My Big Fat Greek Wedding, meets Southern Baptist Sissies, meets Happy, Texas meets
Steel Magnolias. The dialogue is funny, the wit sharp and the romantic comedy so light you
don’t have to think. Characters with personalities as big as Texas itself, this is a purely feel-
good romantic comedy/ Christian family story.

Welcome to Texas…specifically Tyler, Texas, home of rose pageants and tornadoes. We
meet NANCY ELIZABETH  HOUSTON-GLORY, distant relative of the great Sam Houston (a
fact nobody in her family will ever let her forget!) With her biological clock a ticking time
bomb, Nan thinks she has found the ticket to happiness in womanizer, FERNANDO
CANUDOS, a handsome Brazilian whom she met six weeks ago. Wedding plans are in full
swing until DEAN KEVIN TRAVIS, her childhood soul mate, returns to Tyler.  Dean, newly
divorced, realizes that Nan has been the love of his life since they first met as children, but
his pride stands in the way of his happiness today just as it did in junior high. Lives
intertwine, and after a hilarious romp in East Texas, Fernando’s regal MOTHER arrives to
disrupt the wedding. After the catastrophe, with the help of the grand matriarchs of the three
families, and a little divine intervention, Nan discovers her true desires, and Dean realizes
that it is up to him to set their lives on the right course.
